either engine swapped, head swapped to an 2.7i, or some kind of a top secret eta wonder chip. maybe a mark d, never intended for production. lol

actually the eta red line is something like 4800 but this is still interesting. mine is chipped and still, at 56 or 5700 revs, she's a screamin. i cant imagine what an eta at 7000 must be like. dont know how the rev limiter works though. is it done by a chip in the ecu? and if so, is it the same chip that we replace w/ our performence chips? anyone want to chime in? corect me if i'm wrong, but if it's a real eta, the ecu will have a number on it ending in 027. if any mods where done the ecu would of bin swapped out too right?

its just a I cluster with a eta coding chip. no way that engine is reving that high.

my 88 528e revs to 5300 and it sounds much more wound up than your car.

If the cluster has a 4 cylinder coding plug the normal 4800rpm rev llimit would indicate as 7200rpm on the tachometer.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
