Fan is still cutting rad hose?

Long story short, my clutch fan was slicing the rad hose, I figured from heavy braking, so I changed the engine/tranny mounts to akg poly bushings and installed a new hose. After 2 weeks of driving and not even a track day yet the fan is still slicing the hose. Any ideas? When the engine is off the fan has no play and spins freely. I tried to zip tie the hose to give a bit more room but not sure if it helping or not.

    Thanks for your input

Sure its the fan? I had the same issue and it was the alternator belt/pully, that was on a b27

The rad is nice and tight, the rad has zero signs of of the fan hitting it,

Jafxod, its definitely the fan because it is the top hose

zip tie the hose out of the way, and all should be OK. Had the same problem on mine, hose will shift position (expand a bit) when under pressure, causing interference with the fan.

mine did it with brand new engine and motor mounts, the hose is infamous for doing this if not secured

                  Which hose and what car?
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I bet you're missing the clip that holds the hose to the engine

It is the hose that comes out of the water pump and goes into the thermostat housing. Ill get a pic after work

I double checked all mounts when I saw it was hitting again and there all tight. The engine are 75d and tranny 80a.

Ya the mounts are 2 weeks old max. I figured before it was hitting because my stock mounts of mushy like hell.

That means that either that hose isn't an OE or OE equal part or that it wasn't properly installed. I've see this with generic hoses that aren't truly the same as the OE part. You may be able to shorten the hose a bit and get it away from the fan.

Alright that sounds like a possibility. It would have to be that the old one is not generic either which is possible since it came with the car I do not know where it came from. Ill shorten it abit and check the outcome.
