      Welcome to owning an E30.

If lucky, the E36 will die peacefully, in its natural habitat, and be given the prestigious honor of donating its parts to an E30

Oh my god people! It's an m20! They tick! If it bothers you then get a m50 or sell the car!

The head on my motor was rebuilt and yeah, still ticks

Valve adjustment will help, but won't eliminate it

Yep, an engine designed 30+ years ago will tick. The fact that people are surprised is what scares me.

I always thought of the ticking as the M20 trying to kill itself. It is an M20, after all. I'd hate to have a timing belt too....

i was just annoyed that when i down shifted and took a turn on the inside lane of my buddy that after the fact he described my car as sounding "like an angry sowing machine"

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

I drove these cars straight off the truck to my stereo shop, before the customer ever even saw them.

                              They ticked new.
