    timing belt issues?

Just bought antimony belt from orielys and even with my tensioner compressed I still can't. Get my belt on my can gear?its a 1/8" too short I'd say.
Just seeing if there was some trick I'm missing out on

The trick is buying the correct parts for these cars from a reliable supplier not your local generic auto parts store. Oh wait thats not a trick.
I need your obd1 parts! Harness intake ecu etc.

I had the same problem getting mine on, I was off by one tooth after taking it off a few times I was able to get it on right.

Sorry,Brett my local autoparts store seemed like a reliable source for it being my local parts store??
Part no. T151 unsure what brand,I'm not home to check.
See!yeah I took it back and the sales guy wouldn't even compare another to see of I got a mistake.
I honestly don't feel like stretching this belt a tooth to fit lol

              apparently you need a T131, not T151 (that's for a subaru)

the tooth # and length are both different.

that's a Gates belt if you got if from O'Reillys

Gates really makes good quality stuff, I ran a Gates belt on my m20 for a few years

                      Okay so my procedure is:
                      1:everything removed needed,harmony balancer,timing belt covers removed...ect.
2: I fully compress my tensioner
3:I put the belt on the crankshaft then pull it over the can gear.
4: go to pull the belt over the tensioner,1/4" too short,I can't even use a screw driver as a pry bar (I know don't do that)

I say faulty belt I need a new t131 belt.anything I've done wrong or missed.
