    no acceleration

first time this happened to me while driving 2 days ago, the car just wouldnt rev so i had to pull over. i turned off the car and pulled off like there was no problem. tonight it happened again. a friend told me it might be the tranny fluid needs changing. what could be the problem?

You're either not getting gas or you're not getting spark. Check the ignition coil and the fuel pump.

If your car is an automatic. Pull off the transmission fluid dip stick and smell it. If it smells burn then there's a problem in your transmission. Changing fluid is the cheapest thing to do first. If that doesn't help have a mechanic to take a look at your problem :)

That can be a symptom of a collection of rust in the fuel tank. When driving sloshing fuel stirs up rust particles which collect on the inlet screen of the pump, choking off flow. As long as the pump is running suction holds the trash in place. Shut off the car and the trash falls off, restoring fuel flow.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
