did you run the car hard b4 testing?

run the car for like 45min to get it really hot, then drive straight there and get it tested.

Run a full tank of 91 and FI cleaner, Put new Spark plugs and then drive it hard for 45 minutes. This will ensure that your Cat is working and you will pass.

if your car is running great with no issue, 90% is a bad cat. try cleaning your cat, link below

Don't assume it's a bad cat if it's not gonna pass. And if you can pass with a brand new cat the problem is still there.

Failing NOx emissions indicates high cylinder temperature, which can be from a lean mixture, high compression, even faulty coolant temp sensors and stuff, etc. Also a bad EGR valve can be culprit.

New BMW's don't even use EGR's tho, they just have super burly cats that clean everything out cuz BMW thinks EGR valves rob performance.

go buy the pass smog bottle crap you put in your gas tank .I always do just incase and have car hot I pass with flying colors worth a try.
