    Mechanical fan question

So my car didn't come with a fan and I've got all the pieces I need to put everything together. I'm all excited and then I realize I have no clue which way the blades are supposed to go onto the clutch.* Can somebody help me out? I don't want to be blowing air out instead of sucking it in.

Will I have any issues running a m42 fan on my m20? I don't have a shroud either if that matters.

fan mounts to the back side of the clutch, The dish that the clutch sits in will go forward.

I would not use the M42 fan, just because I am not sure about the clearance to the radiator. If you have one, and it fits, use it, otherwise M20 fans and clutches are readily available and fairly cheap.

I just picked up a new m20 clutch from guten, only the fan blades are off of an m42. My concern was more about blade count and being able to move enough air. How much clearance needs to be between the fan and radiator?

Depends how crapped out your motor mounts are... ;)

I'd say 1-2" is safe with good mounts.
