    Temp Sending Unit Motronic 1.3

Can somebody explain: I got new sensors for cooling system. Is the temp sending unit supposed to be Open or Closed when cold ( below 86F)?? I checked continuity of the sender and it shows some ohms. I tested the old sensor after i drove it just about operating temp and it shows continuity also. Manufacturer of sensor FAE

Both temp sensors are negative coefficient types. Meaning that they have a higher resistance cold than when hot. So yes they will have resistance at room temperature.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
