I initially would have said replace the T-belt, but after recently doing my T-belt and thinking more about it I would tend to agree with nando. After you install the belt and run it for a while it's not really under tension. The span of the belt directly from the cam sprocket to the crank sprocket is under tension while the car is running (cause the crank sprocket is pulling the cam sprocket around), but the other side of the belt that goes over the idlers/tensioners is totally slack while running. Therefore, any given section of belt is repeatedly stretched and relaxed every few rotations of the engine for 60k miles.

I'd say if it's only got 5k you could reuse it - but more than that and you might as well replace it to postpone that next t-belt change.

Kinda put off the new gasket for nicer weather. Drove out to vegas and back and sacramento for the weekend. On the way home about 2 miles out from the house the coolant level dummy light came on. I made it to the house and found the source under the intake. The 3 way hose that runs from the tstat housing to the heater core + coolant fill tank was the problem. Very lucky to be around the corner, two days earlier and I could have been stranded in the desert. So I tore into it today. It came apart nicely. Pulled the head and both manifolds as 1 piece. So obviously I need to replace all the hoses AZ autohauz seems to be the best deal. Anybody try the silicon vacuum line kit on ebay. Should I just stick with rubber hose that I can source locally. Oh yea I checked the Service tag I put on when I switched the timing belt. I have put 10000 miles in the past 5 months. I will definatly get a new timing belt. I dropped the head off at the machine shop for a tear down, hot tank, pressure test,Mill the deck, inspect the valvetrain and reassembly. Looks like valve seals and everything came with the VR head gasket set. I noted that the t-body heater is missing. The PO broke on of the screws and just removed it all together. Is this thing really needed. I have not had any issues on start ups besides a little vacuum leak. I am also getting some new fuel injector kits to do a at home rebuild. Anything else you guys think I should look into now that I am sitting a week with all this stuff out of the way in the engine bay. I do have lots of grease and grime to clean.

don't worry about the TB housing jacket. those two hoses that attach to it can be blocked off. if the screws are snapped off you might want to remove it and you may have enough thread on the screws stems to unscrew them. put new ones in and close it off altogether. but entirely optional as I don't think it really does much.

have fun with the cleaning... lol. I just finished a job like that where my entire engine bay, block and whatever else was in there was completely covered in heavy grease and oil.
I'd go at it in a few attempts as you'll most likely notice stuff you missed after a couple of times.

I checked them out. My hose at az $38 Uro brand at blunt $62 for an undisclosed brand. I have used az several times with no issues. Some times pelican. Like most guys here wherever the best prices are. They always have higher prices at blunt. I hear great things about them. I want the right parts at the best price.

I am sorry, but $20 is wayyyyyy cheap insurance to make sure you dont have to get into the head again. You're already in there and the belt has to come off anyway so why the heck NOT replace it? I would.........

                    Fa la la la la

Machine shop told me that the valve guides were shot. New valve guides, valve seats, grinding, decking the head, assembly $655. Ouch. This car is getting expensive. I think I am now invested more money than I wanted to. The unseasonably warm weather has been a blessing. My car had to sit with the head off for 3 weeks in the carport. I had to drive my 1 ton truck to Vegas for the Holiday. 10 MPG sucks that wallet dry. Happy Holidays. I need some cheese for my whine.

nice! GL man. make sure you let the bolts rest when you are torquing them down. and then i find at the end of torquing that bolts 1-6 are a bit loose and double check them. you will also need to do a valve adjustment at 100-150 miles. as they seat they can get too tight.
                        Much wow

Parts are not that expensive. Labor to pay someone else to do it is!
