What is the next step? 87' 325e

On a few different occasions I have noticed a few drop of oil leaking from a few of the bolts on my oil pan, tightened em up problem goes away, but comes back like a week later.. what do I need to do? Reseal my oil pan?? Its an 86 325e.

Also I have a small (a drop or two) coming from my transmission where on the seam below where the star looking bolt is. Did some tightening... same prob. Does it need to be re sealed or something? And would a quick fix like jb weld where that drop once a week comes from, be a bad idea?

Finally tranny fluid. The haynes manual specifies gear oil, but looking through forums there doesn't seem to be a common consensus and my haynes manual is for like 10 models, so its somewhat shotty as to what methods go to which model.. should I just use the 80 gear oil it says???

Your links are messed up, this is definitely in the wrong forum, but to stay on topic.

Definitely wouldn't use JB weld, that's really ghetto, and will only cause you pain in the end.

For oil pan if you are sure it's coming from where the oil pan seams together then replace the gasket and possibly use some permatex, which will make a seal that will never ever leak.

I'm not familiar with these transmissions yet and don't know what area you're talking about but I definitely advise against Jb weld.

Also seeing as you are in PHX check out http://azbmw.org/index.php?name=Forums you can probably find some local help on there, bunch of E30 guys up in phx.

If the oil from the engine is leaking from the pan gasket, then you need to drop the pan and replace the gasket. As to the leak from the transmission I suspect you mean that oil is leaking from the bottom of the bell housing, which would mean a leaking emit main seal or a leaking transmission input seal.

The only fix for any of these is replacement of the cause of the leak.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
