Bumping this back up it happened again! So here's what I have done to try and fix it.
      New fuel filter
      New Bosch +4 plugs
Swapped main relay (can someone elaborate why this could be a cause)

This is weird Im having the same problem too. Just bumped my thread on it today. So far iv changed the spark plugs/wires cleaned the cap and rotor changed the fuel filter and changed out the cps and I'm still having problems. But the only difference is mine won't let the car go past 3 grand or it will choke out and stall and It wot idle till the next day

I was going to go for the fuel pump but I'm having problems getting it out the tank. Any help?

:edit: I got it out. Cleaned it and put it back in but it didnt seem to make a difference.

check your air filter it may be dirty causing hesitation during top end but still allow enough air to cruise normally.

Nah I tried it without the filter attached to see if the arm is responding goo and it was acting fine.

It may not be the problem, but it certainly can cause it and will mask it if you fix it doing something else.

Sounds like a misfire. I had that happen too. Got a new coil and fixed it

                    What's wrong with these plugs?

They are the wrong plugs for the engine. Since the right plugs are NLA from Bosch, the next best alternative is NGK ZGR5A plugs.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Oh damn alright. How could the main relay be a part of this? I hoping you would chime in :) (no homo)

The main relay is a remote possibility, only because it supplies power to the fuel pump relay. If the main relay were to be bad, the tach would go to zero when the engine lost power because the DME would loose power.

A bad fuel pump relay, bad fuel pump or FPR, bad engine harness, or bad bad DME are all possibilities at this point. If you see the econometer drive towards zero when the engine looses power the DME probably isn't the cause since that indicates that the DME realizes that insufficient fuel is being delivered and tries to increase flow.

The first diagnostic should be to tee a pressure gauge into the the fuel rail supply line and zip it to a windshield wiper so you can see what fuel pressure does in an event.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Thanks for the info man. If I test fuel pressure from the FPR and it checks out to be good can I cross the FPR off the list of possible causes? I swapped DME's one with a dinan chip now and still had the problem. So I'll try out what you told me thanks bro!

Had similar intermittant issues with mine. Ended up being a bad plug wire. The wires looked great but as the RPM got higher and the engine was under load, it would randomly do it. Try getting some wires to swap from a parts car.

It seems like there are so many possibilities for the same set of symptoms. It turns out mine was just a dirty afm and after cleaning it with cleaner it ran better. Still stutters but only once in a while. I will continue to clean it and if it doesn't work I will buy a new afm. Or just drop a s85 in. Havnt picked yet...
