Yep been readin e30tech a lot

Got an estimate for machine work on the block. Does 350 sound good for resurfacing, o-ring, and decking the block along with hot tanking it?

That sounds about right. I got my head and block both resurfaced, cleaned, and the head pressure checked for $200. So $350 for all that seems fair. Also have them check the cylinders for tapering, egg shaping, and tolerances are all within spec. Unless you have the tools to do that yourself, of course.

Ask him to do a quick deglaze on the hone with the finishing stones if your gonna stay with stock pistons.

Yeah I was gonna leave the block height alone, but dice I will be dd on low boost I want more off boost torque. So the decked block should help(small amount) with that. In actuality I doubt i would have noticed a difference either way, I thinks it comes to a 6% difference.

hey guys need some part numbers
i am ordering everything i need to rebuild motor, it should be going to machine shop in a week or two.

i searched on realoem but can't tell which piston rings to get, or which bearing sets for the crank, or what con rod bearings to get!

the piston rings have 3 options, 83.980", 84.23", and 84.48"

i think i would need the 83.980, thats stock bore on a super eta right?

              thanks guys

if anyone can help let me know

Take your block to the machine shop before buying bearings and stuff. That's really the only way to know what size bearings and rings you need.

                  That simplified things lol.

guess I can get motor out sooner than later!

i have a manifold and a turbo. but aint gunna be cheap and shipping will be rape due to being heavy.

230 + shipping for the manifold : top mount t3 adapter with a 38mm wastegate flange, comes with a set of stock manifolds for bolt on.

150 + shipping for a used garrett t3 ( super 60 ) ar .60/.63 , has been rebuilt at one time. Comes with inlet pipe , outlet pipe , inturnal wastegate and rear flange

like i said shipping is where its going to hurt since nether is light

I'd be interested in the turbo, but that manifold I doubt will meet my power goals or flow as well as a full tubular manifold(not an adapter). I'm o-ringing the block for a reason, 350whp+

I'm doing the same exact thing as you my friend with the same power goals...literally. I'm sending out my head next week and the block next month. I'm going to be using a Holset HC-1 turbo though, haven't decided on the manifold though. I'll be doing a 500-700 mile break in period just to be sure everything is good.

I'm also interested in which bearings i'll need as well as those are next on my list. I already picked up a set of piston rings.
