This is what I'm running. Night and day improvement over stock. Idle and throttle response were both cleaned up. Way more driveable

As long as your O2 sensor and cat are in working order, you will pass no problem.

Do you guys offer a stealth version that won't be as obvious during the visual?

They're getting tougher and rougher down here in Southern California especially so I'm concerned. I don't really know how obvious everything looks but switching between my CAI K&N filter and the stock air box became such a PITA that I eventually bought a drop-in and quit swapping.

The MAF is pretty stealth as it is. It is a plastic housing with BOSCH sensor that plugs right into the factory connector. Unless the person knows they car in and out they will think its factory. If they do know the cars and notice the MAF, they are obviously an enthusiast and would be a dick to say anything LOL.

However, I know the air nazi's down there have big wood for the visual inspection, most our Cali customers don't have problem and if they have the billet air box adapter, they told me throwing black electrical tape over the MILLER engraving was all they did.

Thanks for the info, brody. I've been running some calculations and I'd break even on the WAR chip after roughly 3,000 miles of running 87 instead of 91 at current socal prices.

what octane gas do you recommend with the 19lb chip and maf?

Like Brody said, ran it with the airbox adapter, smog guy didn't even blink. It blows just as clean. (i have a brand new magnaflow cat, so im sure that helps).

If you are really worried about it, it is not that big of a deal to swap back to stock every 2 years.

Do you change to a low emissions profile with the WAR chip? Run 87 and some other tweaks to get a cleaner emissions?

We recommend 91, but unofficially you can run 89 no problems.

There is no reason to switch. A proper tune will not have bad emissions. When you use a proper tune, your car will pass just like always OR better. That is why these cars have emissions equipment built into/on them because they have to be compliant with standards, and when you calibrate these properly there are no negative impacts.

I don't understand that last statement, brody, because removing/swapping the AFM and DME is altering the emissions equipment built into/on them so it's not a given that the aftermarket replacement will automatically result in emissions that are equal or lower than a stock e30.

If it is tuned properly it will. This isn't a bolt on product that does not come without proper calibration is what I was getting at. It is recalibrated to run as if factory and has no negative impact on emissions.

Something like a cam that does not come with a chip will impact emissions because the tune is not made for it unless of course you get the right tune into your ECU.
