Strange Whining Sound

    Yeah so maybe when you accelerate the icv is not used and is therefore floating in a position that produces a whistle.

    Or maybe the ICV is sucking in air through the hole in the top, I don't know...

    Start removing stuff and try to isolate the problem!!!

        is it just me or is it missing the kickdown cable for the trans?

          I've always thought there should be a 2nd cable but there's always been just 1. There's no cruise control either, seems to work fine with 1.

          It's from Japan so maybe it's a weird overseas thing.

            the kickdown cable is only for automatics, not manuals. So your good unless you do have an auto

                Alright, found it.

                When re assembling I didn't tighten the two bolts on the valve cover bracket which also bolts down the cap that attaches the vacuum line for the FPR.

                At least I know what to do if I want my car to sound like it's super charged.

                  At least it was a simple fix.

                  That's actually really cool, i'm gonna try and recreate that sound by loosening my bracket bolts too!
