The pelican parts article is just how to replace it, i know there is a way to test two pins for resistance...

      Copied from another forum:

A proper resistance measurement is done power off. Based on your resistance readings, the CPS is defective.

I have a good, later-M20 salvage yard CPS to work with. Terminal 1 is on the side leading out to the metal sensor. Mine had 549 ohms between 1 and 2, and infinite resistance between 1-3 and 2-3.

For people new to digital multimeters, infinite resistance may display as 1 or OL (out of limits).

So testing the outside plug under the "pac man plug", the male side (pins) none of them came out anywhere close to 540. From what I believe is 1 & 2 i got 110ish while set on the 200k setting. tested a buddies and his came out to 571 on the 2000 setting..

So from what i infer mines at 110000 ohms???

There are two identical plugs that share a bracket under the diagnostic port, make sure you are testing the plug that goes to the cps. If you are and those are the readings your getting the cps is bad.

You need to test the other end of that plug...just slide it out of the metal holder that side your testing goes to the dme
