    m20 lurching after about 5500

Violent lurches at about 5500, if i let off the gas, let rpm lessen, and it smooths and and continues normal driving. A Bavauto chip was installed by the previous owner, does that require different injectors or am i thinking about this the wrong way?

Check to see if the WOT switch in the TPS is good. After that I'd suspect the engine timing sensor(s) or the fuel system.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Mine did this when my cap and rotor went bad. I'd you haven't recently done a tune up id suggest a cap, rotor, plugs, wires and check you coil while your at it.
