Normal is going to vary from gauge to gauge, I typically look for consistency. Did you do a leak down?

And if it was something with the motor internally it would run like poo all the time not give me 5-10min of great operation with the ability to floor it and chirp second with no problems, and then start to run like garbage

It's not likely to lead to anything, but you've elimited a lot of the possibilities.

I only throw it out there, because I've seen this once or twice.

my 87is ran similarly. I changed the injectors and everything ran perfect. The reason the old injectors were bad is because old fuel had run through them clogging them up. Do you have filthy fuel in the tank? Have you fully flushed the fuel system? Sediment in the tank?

He hasnt dropped the tank and cleaned it yet. It has sat for 8 years with old gas. There is sediment all inside the tank. The fuel filter is dirty every time he takes it off and cleans it.

He has used seafoam. Which breaks up larger particles into smaller particles allowing them to pass. But in a situation like this where build up is extreme, it probably hurt it more than it helped.

Shit in your fuel. That may be your issue. (moisture might be in there)

A tank with a lot of rust sediment in it is going to cause fuel delivery problems. That sediment will collect on the inlet screen of the in-tank pump and choke off flow. The only fix is to remove the tank, acid clean it, and seal it or to replace the tank.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Maybe this will help more, when the car starts to loose power it
Backfires thru the intake...what would cause that....

That's pretty much EXACTLY what I said, but he doesn't seem to think its causing the issue.

I'm guessing the issue hasn't come back? I'll pull my pump tonight and see if i find similar results.
