    Weird rev issues

hey guess so i just finished up a swap into my e30 and have had a few issue but most of them have been resolved thanks in part to R3vlimited. But now i have one last question for all the e30 gentlemen here, what wouyld cause a m20 to not rev past 2000-2500 rpm? it idels fine and revs to mentioned rpm quickly but then seems to stop almost as if there is a rev limiter set at this rpm. I have ordered a new cps because the one i have seems to be a tad bit fidgety and gave me problems before. I am under the impression that almost all drivability issues are caused by the cps. Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advanced.

wires go to shit easily. Have you run the car at night with no lights on and watched for a light show under the hood?

Perform electrical check on AFM via Bentley manual. CPS usually works or doesn't work. If CPS is faulty, your car wont start. Also, failed ignition coil can cause this issue.

              Seconded.

Also, a bad TPS can cause this. Check that as per the Bentley.

A lot of times, the wires internally corrode. Sometimes the insulation takes a crap too. I saw a car with similar problems and I actually looked at the engine while it was running at night. You could see the electricity spark from the wires to the valve cover. So if your wires are old. I suggest changing them out. Even if it doesn't fix your problem.

Interesting to see that a bad CPS would cause poor running as opposed to no starting.
