installed TRE Fuel Pump And Keep Blowing # 11 Fuse

So, my fuel pump died a couple weeks ago. (91 325i) I installed a new TRE pump and now I've gone thru 3 Fuel pump fuses in the last 3 weeks. My car will run great for a week or two then while driving I'll blow the # 11 fuse. This has happened 3 times now. Someone told me that I could try and put a 10A or 15A fuse in place of the 7.5A. Would swapping the fuses work or am I ignoring that I have a problem some were. Any help would be awesome.

What is the rated full load current draw of the pump you used? If it is close to the fuse rating a larger fuse is appropriate. But if it is well less than the fuse rating something else is wrong.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

yeah your performance fuel pump draws more current than the OEM pump, you can try putting a 10A fuse in there and it would probably be OK, however I do not advise this for a long term solution. The wires themselves are rated at 7.5A but should be safe at higher current flow.

Contact the manufacturer or view the spec sheet on the pump. It should list the recommended fuse size or full load current draw like Levie mentioned.

Last option would be to run new power wires to the tank feed through that can handle appropriate current draw per the specifications.
