    Battery Teminal...........

I posted this in electronics. I am trying to find out why my positive terminal corrosion builds up so quickly. Battery is 3 months old. I bought a new battery for this very reason.
My positive battery teminal gets corroded quickly. I just cleaned it for the third within the last 2 weeks. Something new for my car. For referance I have a 92 Alpimeweiss MT2 App Vert, with 145K. New battery, reman alt, new tps. After market Alpine head w/5.25 x 4, no amps. Oh and my ac fan is wired to high speed and comes on when the a/c button is engaged. The a/c fan has been that way for 8 months. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks...................G.

Has the battery cable ever been replaced? The particular connector metal could cause accelerated corrosion. If you do not clean the terminals good enough it can also accelerate corrosion.

Both positive and negative have to be ultra clean and tight. Be sure to clean the ground to chassis connection too.

If I were having that problem I would go to the medicine cabinet and pull out the jar of petroleum jelly.
Then I would lightly coat the cables and terminal with the jelly to prevent corrosion.

If that doesn't work, buy some new cables as mentioned above. Lead ones are preferred.
