I head swap with late model harness NO CRANK!!

So im stuck right now. Everything is wired up but the starter and those 3 plugs by the dme.

I have a 86 Eta and swapped over a full 89 harness with 173 dme.
I dont hear the fuel plug kick on and not a sound from the starter.

Theres 3 wires for the starter on a late model , but the eta starter has only two prongs...

also 3 wires not plugs in to the harness in the glove box.

they would plug into this plug but not on a late model harness.

    any help would be great

The late model harness has two small wires for the starter. One is for the unloader relay control and the other is for the starter solenoid. In this case you can tape up and ignore the unloader control wire and hook the solenoid wire to your starter.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I tried this and nothing happened. the red is on + , the blk/yellow is on the - , and the green/blk is un touched.

I'm in the middle of doing this- since mine hasn't started yet, what I have for you
is that the little plugs don't matter for starting. The 3 wire plug is for tach and
fuel rate (search "C101" for the answers on that one, there are some good threads)

and then get the ETM's for the 86 and the 89. It takes some digging, but you can
track down your problem that way, one step at a time. If it's not cranking, I'd first
make sure it will if you jump the starter terminal, then start working backwards.

If your donor had an OBC, not just a clock, track down the OBC relay connections-
they'll result in a no- start.

          all I got.

          t
now, sometimes I just mess with people. It's more entertaining that way. george graves

            mine starts and runs now.

the blk/yellow goes on the prong under the positive . you dont need the grn/blk wire
