Ok so on my way to work today I got a block away from my house and my car cuts out randomly (it's a 1990 325i) but I am able to pull it safely into a parking lot. I let the car sit for a few minutes and then attempted to start it. The engine is cranking fine it just won't fire up. The car has done this a few times in the past but I am usually able to get the car to start up again within a few minutes. This does not seem to be the case this time though.
So I'm thinking that my crank position sensor finally bit the dust. I can't really find to much info about where to actually find the CPS or how to replace it, and since I don't have to much auto repair experience I'm pretty lost. Any help from you fine gentlemen would, as always, be greatly appreciated.
