Car cranks but no start. Crank position sensor?

Ok so on my way to work today I got a block away from my house and my car cuts out randomly (it's a 1990 325i) but I am able to pull it safely into a parking lot. I let the car sit for a few minutes and then attempted to start it. The engine is cranking fine it just won't fire up. The car has done this a few times in the past but I am usually able to get the car to start up again within a few minutes. This does not seem to be the case this time though.

So I'm thinking that my crank position sensor finally bit the dust. I can't really find to much info about where to actually find the CPS or how to replace it, and since I don't have to much auto repair experience I'm pretty lost. Any help from you fine gentlemen would, as always, be greatly appreciated.

The CPS is right on the front of the engine on the passenger side, down next to the crank pulley. It picks up the teeth that are on the crank wheel. Can't miss it.

I beleieve that the fuel pump is running yes. Do I have to remove the intake manifold in order to remove the other end of the CPS?

No the connection should be by the the ICV and the wire snakes behind the accessory brackets to hang out down by the AC components. I think mine was held on with an allen bolt...
