    help: running on 3 cylinders

Alright so the other morning im on my way to class, minding my own bussiness driving my e30 when it starts to putter and have power loss. Right away i could tell one cylinder wasnt firing. After school i get home and pull all the plugs and cyl #5 is soaked in fuel.

So far i've checked the wires, #5 was dead. So i replaced those today. And still doesnt run right. Yesterday i cleaned my cap wich is new as of last fall, and checked my rotor.

Regaped all of my plugs to .023". Also its FI with MS ecu, but ive never had this happen before so i dont think it has anything to do with the management.

What could cause this to happen?

I havent replaced or checked my coil, and i just had the head off and deck decked along with a valve job. My dad says i might have a valve stuck open buy wouldnt it still ignite the fuel if i have spark? (which i do)

My m20 had it's fuel rail harness(electrical connectors) coming loose when I bought it - so it ran like a dog.

Leaky fuel injectors. Try doing a compression test too.

they're brand new 42lb lucas injectors, i'd hope they wouldn't leak or be clogged... :(

I'll do a compression test today and get back to this if it isn't the problem.

What do the logs in the MS say is happening? What are compression and leak down numbers from the engine?
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

42lb injectors? Hoo boy, that's more than twice the output of the stock ones. We might need the mod list for your motor.

well i ruled out pretty much everything besides taking off the head and taking a look...

put on new wires, cap and rotor are fine, switched plugs, regaped plugs, valve clearance is good, injectors all checked out fine, i even switched one that i knew was spraying good with #5, checked my fuel rail harness, even dropped the exhaust to see if there was too much back pressure...

                  compression:
                  #1 150 #2 160 #3 177 #4 163 #5 130 #6 165

that's right on the mark with number 5 cylinder...

I had a very similar problem and after finally pulling the head, I found the head gasket had blown between 5&6.
