    Crank, no start, no fuel

    Engine is a m20 b27i.
    key to run no fuel./
    key to crank no fuel
    jump fuel pump relay pin 30 to pin 87 fuel pump kicks on with the key in the off position.
    Swapped relay and still nothing
    check fuse 11, fuse was fine
    anybody else have this issue ?


    Just out trying to build some boost !!

      havent checked yet pulled off a fuel line first amd there no fuel, thought i would start there.

          My first thought is that there won't be spark while cranking either. That would mean:

          1) The DME isn't getting timing data
          2) There is a problem with DME power or ground
          3) There is a problem in the engine harness
          4) The DME is bad

          The DME controls the fuel pump relay and only engages the relay when it sees timing data from a rotating engine. The pump not running when the engine is cranking (and the relay not engaging) indicates a problem with timing data, the control circuit, or the DME. In which case there usually won't be spark either.
          The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

            How is the ecu grounded ? why em i getting the the fuel pump to work when jumped 87 to 30, but not when i turn the key or crank the car over.

                  The pump doesn't ever run just when the ignition is on. When the DME sees timing data from a rotating engine it will cause the fuel pump relay to engage and power up the pump. If the DME isn't getting timing data or the DME isn't running or there is an engine harness wiring problem, the relay won't turn on when the engine cranks.

                  The first check should be to make sure that the CPS and Cyl ID connectors are correct.

                    Ok the grounds are hooked up correctly , but I don't have the crank sensor hooked up. What about when the key is turned to the run position shouldn't the fuel pump prime without cranking the engine over ?

                        The question is that i do not see where it attaches and i install it on the top bolt thatnholds the caliper since thevsize of the loop os exactly the same as the bolt. Is this correct?

                            The high pressure pump contains a check valve that prevents fuel from draining back when the engine is shut off. If the pump (and check valve) and the FPR are good the rail will retain pressure for a really long time. Even if all pressure is released from the rail if the pump & FPR are working correctly rail pressure will be normal within a few turns of the engine. So there is no need to prime the system.
