Fuel Pressure after engine is off???

So, i replaced my bad fuel pump with a TREPerformance pump.

Now the vehicle is starting to get hard to start. After attaching a fuel pressure gauge and observing the pressure. Right after I turn off the vehicle the fuel pressure drops straight to 0! Normal? Is there a return valve in the line that is stuck open? Shouldn't there be some pressure after?

It sounds like your TRE pump doesn't have a check valve in it. The OE pump does. If the OE pump and FPR are good, the rail will remain pressurized for a really long time.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

You can buy a check valve for a few dollars. Part number is in this thread.

Just get an OE pump and be done with it.

You're right,of course, that would be the best solution.
I remembered seeing that thread, and was trying to provide a cheap alternative.

Thanks. Seems the valve is MIA so looks like it will be a pump. I may try to look it up on my ETK program and see if the part number has changed.

I used the 2jz-gte pump replacing the stock one in tank, it's stronger, better response, no hard starts, no pressure drops, cheap ..
