    off-throttle rpm drop

i've had an issue for the past year or so that has really begin to bother me. when letting off throttle after any load (even in traffic situations), my rpms will drop to 350-400 before catching back to ~600 idle. any theories? my idle is also lumpy (like a cam) and goes through 5 second intervals of falling lean then coming back.

This turned out to be my tps years ago.
Vaccum leaks are also a culprit but I know you know that.

Check if your tps clicks when you slightly pull the throttle's butterfly when the car is off.
Needs adjustment or it's brokededed if no clicky.

Doesn't matter. It'll click with the engine off or on but harder to hear when on.
You could feel the click too.

The click from the TPS doesn't mean much. Check the switch with a meter or test light.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

TPS was tested and okay. blasted the hell out of the ICV and temporarily fixed the drop-down but it came back. adjusted the idle up a little and the drop isn't nearly as severe. still would like to figure out the lean cycle though.

swapped out the fuel pump for kicks too.

did a pull last night and 4th gear ran flat at 5800 RPM on flat ground. never had that issue before. the top end seems to not pull as well as it used to. compression numbers are 155-165 across all 6.
