    my preasure light flickering on?

driving to the store the other day and my oil pressure light started flickering at 4k,so I stopped, checked my oil it was 1/2 a qrt low filled it back to level with 5w-40 and and now it ls always on or off, temp doesn't seem to change these issues.how should go about troubleshooting this?

The first step would be to find out what the oil pressure really is after changing the filter. That is done by temporarily replacing pressure switch with gauge.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

This happened to me check if the wire is off the switch before getting a pressure tester etc.

oil presure sensor is on the passenger side of the block single wire sensor down below the oil filter area, not on the pan itself, thats the oil level sender

Wait,I thought that was for the upper check oil level light?
In that case,i have mine wire nutted off because the wire broke and exposed.
                Hmm,thanks smoke!

yea the level sender for the check light is on the pan itself
