Water pump already bad?

Here's the back story:

I installed this water pump not 300 miles ago. But then a bunch of fan blades broke off. I ran the car with a very wobbly fan at highways speeds for about 110 minutes. Now I have to do a head gasket so I'm digging into the front, and notice this. Did the wobbly fan bust the waterpump? It's not leaking or anything, and you can hear that it still pumps water by the gurgle. Opinions?

that gurgling only tells you the wp is knee deep in coolant. It's hard to tell but it does look more like a loose pulley which could destroy your fan blades, but if the pulley is tight then yes, your wp is shot.

Pulley: Do you mean the disk that attaches to the WP that the belt drives (the thing I'm touching), then no, it's not loose. All the play is happening within the WP.

Guess it's good I'm back in there checking things.

the threads for your fan clutch do not appear to be moving so your pulley (yes the black thing the belt rides in) cannot be on tight...and there is no way a water pump shaft will wobble that much and not have coolant pouring out..not to mention the racket it would make.

jeffnhiscars, watch the video in HD on a desktop. When I spin it backwards and forwards at 13 seconds you'll see the threads change direction. The car was making a tick tick tick sound, but I thought it was an injector. I think at 9 seconds when I jiggle really quickly you can see the treads also jiggle?

My desktop left with my hard wired telephone. If your pulley is not loose or bent your water pump in f@$#ed.
