    Head gasket question.

How likely is it that oil will leak from a hg to the exhaust side of the block and not end up in the coolant?

That is entirely possible. The oil feed passage is roughly in the center of the block near the exhaust edge.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I was driving home from work and I watched my temp hit red, so I pulled off let it cool down and drove home. The fan clutch stopped grabbing and I noticed the oil leak. How much would heat affect the head gasket. It was sitting for about 9 months before I swapped it in.
So should I check the torque on the head bolts and see if that helps or just park it till I'm ready?

Doubtful that your exterior oil leak is related to the car heating up. M20 headgaskets leaking oil externally is fairly common. Next time turn the car off BEFORE it hits the red and have it towed home.

Also, the head bolts are designed to be torqued one time only. Do not re-torque them.

Now I have an excuse to get one of your heads and some headers.
