    Schrick 304/stroker help needed!

I need some advice here on my engine setup before I acquire the rest of my parts. The setup so far is a schrick 304 cam with a triple weber dcoe carb setup and a slightly custom ignition system. What I'm having issues with is iwant to run a stroker setup aswell, my stroker setup would consist of me using my 2.5 m20 block and pistons with a 2.7 crank and either the 2.5 or the 2.7 rods.
    so here are my questions:
    - which rods should be used?
    - depending on the rods that i use how big of a valve relief pocket should be cut into the 2.5 pistons for valve clearance and to compensate for rod stretch?
    - i've heard that using the 130mm rods i could get buy with having 50/1000" cut into the pistons for a valve relief pocket, is this true or do i need to go deeper?
    - which valve springs should i use for this cam?
    - am i going to run into compression issues with the stroker and cam setup?

You will have terrible low end power using that cam with stock compression. I'm guessing $1000 for custom pistons is out of your budget?

From what I've read, even a 288 really wants at least 10:1 static.

Another advantage of using proper pistons is that you dont get stuck with heavy eta rods. And also, youre going in the wrong direction in terms of rod/stroke ratio with eta rods.

Ok, what bottom end combo would you go with then? And I plan on getting custom pistons in the 11:1 cr range in the near future, but at the moment funds are tight and i really want to get this setup on the road soon.

Personally, I would go with an 89.6mm crank from an s52 or m54 (same) and either a 284/272 or a 288. With the appropriate pistons, of course. You could even use the 135mm rods from your b25. As money is tight for me as well, I simply dream and keep the ol' b25 hummin' til she breaks. Only 180k on the clock, so I've got plenty of time. And living in the city doesn't exactly inspire me, either.

You need to check out more of the m20 builds around here, there's plenty of information to be found.

I have done it once, and done it right, but I want to do it again! I love the build process. Driving it is fun, but the build was awesome fun!

My next build might be a 2.7 crank, 140mm rods (from a m50 325i) , 731 head, 288 or more cam and Je Pistons. Oh and ITB's or carbs.
