brass wire wheel brush on a drill, removes old gasket gunk without removing any material from the block, also used it to clean all the carbon off the valves.

If you're standing in front of the car looking into the bay, the CPS goes on the left. The other connector is a the pulse generator that attaches to the number 6 plug wire and it goes on the right. They both plug into the harness under the diagnostic port by the dipstick.

Don't happen to have the colors of the actual wires do you?

If you mix em up the only thing that will happen is the car won't start. Just guess.

Done-ish started up perfect after a jump. Still need to bleed coolant and a few other small things.

Drove to work tonight, worried entire time about coolant bubbles, but no issues, car ran great. Now time to take care of EVERYTHING ELSE.

Thanks lol. All things considered, its still far less headache than any of the RX-7's I owned. Steering and suspension are next.

What makes RX-7's more of a pain? I'm curious, never really worked on any car as in-depth as my e30. Don't you have more bay space with the 13B?

Same with mine. I have control arms, m3 bushings, and tie rods sitting in the garage, haven't had time to install them yet.

If you cook a rotary engine, its a full rebuild, not just yanking the head. They are much more sensitive to overheating. amongst many flaws.

Makes sense, didn't think about that.

tip for anyone setting valve clearance

set the feeler gauge on the cam not the valve as the eccentric often digs a little hollow in the valve stem then the feeler gauge sits across the hollow and gives a much wider setting and they clatter, BUT!!! if you do it from the cam the setting should be 007" not 010" because of the rocker ratio.
