i lost the washers when i first took my head off a few months ago and head bolts did not come with any but do i realy have to pay 27 bucks for them from pelican parts or does any thick washer work

The correct washers are ground flat. Common washers are just punched and may not be flat. You need the correct parts.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
