The only part of my engine management system left to repair/overhaul is the injectors, so I've been doing some research on this lately but seem to have lost the page that I found with injector recommendations. I am not interested in buying any oversize fuel injectors as I have yet to see dyno proof that the 17# injectors offer any real benefit in performance and when I last bought a rebuilt set from the board I had a host of issues from no-starts to sever overfueling. I have found a website called OKinjectors that sells rebuilt, flowmatched sets for a reasonable price and I sent the seller a message asking a few questions. I ommitted the unimportant parts of their response but this is what I got
The injectors in question here
Has anyone ever seen or heard of a stock flowing injector for the m20b25 that has the 4 pintle cap? Has anyone used this website before with successful results? If not, where else can I pick up a nice clean set of rebuilt injectors for my e30?
Hello,
Thanks for the message! Perfectly understandable that you require more information. I'll answer your questions below, and I'll also give you a little background about what these sets are and what we do to them. We've been rebuilding BMW injectors exclusively for a few years now. We've dealt with all different models, (mostly the earlier motronic systems like the E30, E34, E28, E36, and some L-Jetronic injectors as well). We decided to take compatible Bosch injectors that have different electrical impedance and flow rates, and match them up with the OEM injectors specific to each of these models as a drop in replacement. I'll answer your questions below.
1. We do match the factory flow specifications from the OEM injectors originally in the car. It's important to note that we do not alter the flow rates of our injectors mechanically. We hand pick injectors we know are flowing the same and have the same electrical impedance and match them up as a compatible set.
2. We have both the single pintle needle tips as well as the 4 hole spray injectors. The 325e is best kept with the single pintle design, but the injectors for the 325i E30 (above) will get the 4 hole spray mechanism. This is a good upgrade and atomizes fuel more efficiently and more reliably.
