    M20 thinner headgasket question?

I am wanting a thinner head gasket on my m20, I know VAC motorsports sell then and you can choose the thickness, S0 my question is simply, What is a good thickness to go with to be reliable, and to pick up a few ponies while I'm at? They say they can have one as then as 0.24, which i feel would not be the most reliable. so what is a safe number to go with?

how much piston to valve clearance do you have and how much have the head and block been skimmed?

Well, its a stock 87 325is, so no head work has been done yet, I am not looking to shave the head down at all though, i just would just like to do a thinner head gasket and keep it reliable.

Putting a thinner head gasket on your engine is not worth it, simple as that. The minor bump in compression will be unnoticeable and the cost of a MLS gasket (which is the only thin option available) is not worth it vs. the cost of an OE style gasket. Just go with stock.
