After I got my valves adjusted my car started making a similar noise. it's loud as dump.

guy at the shop said after he put everything together, fired it up and heard that noise, he went back in to check the valve clearances and just go over his work. Second time- still noisy- several thousand miles later- car's as healthy as ever. Shit is loud, though.

Mine made the same sound after a Timing belt job, the alternator belt was to tight and those old bearings were screaming. i just backed it off a little.

My car makes the same sound to and it runs completely normal, I figured something probably needed to be lubricated, it is annoying though...

I'm not the OP, but I resolved the sound mine was making which (given bad recording audio) sounded like his. My water pump bearings were shot, even though it is only a year old and maybe 10K miles. I did as suggested here and pulled off the alternator belt, which produced a very quiet engine. After removing the water pump and giving it a spin, it sounded like a pepper grinder! The new one is whisper silent when spun

I figured it is the water pump, I just replaced it and had a bit of trouble torquing one of the bolts down. I will order a new one and rip it down again.. for the third time. Wont be for awhile I will let you know my results.
