idles very high ?

hey rev i have a 1990 bmw 325i 5spd and the idle is very high,i changed the idle control valve still the same, i adjust the throttle body cable the idle drops to 650 to around 750 rpm i drive around and the idle seems to get back to 1000 to 1200 any ideas pls get back to me thank you :crazy:

High idle is most often a vacuum leak. I would start there.

The first actions should be to check the TPS to see if it is good and then to have a smoke test run and fix the intake leaks it reveals.
