Early model vs late model cooling system

What's better? I'm building a 2.7i and I will be replacing all the cooling system parts so wich route should I go?

Better? I dunno. I'm inclined to say late model but I would run whatever system came on the car. If it's an early car, run an early system since the mounts are all there.

I prefer the late model cooling system. I've swapped the late model stuff in to most of the early models I've owned. Honestly though either one is fine as long as it's properly maintained.

Seems like I have more options for hoses and radiator if I go late model so I guess I'm going that route

From what I've seen, late model hose kits are also less expensive since there are fewer actual hoses.

The early model lower hose is a pain unless you buy the OEM BMW hose.
