The other day i was just stopped at a red light and it turned green so i started to go, and right when i started to pick up speed my engine shut off. It wasn't overheating, temperature was normal. There wasn't any noises or anything it just shut off, so i pulled over and tried to start it again. At first it was cranking pretty good and almost starting but it just wouldn't start. I called my friend to come out and help me jump it (luckily when it died i was only 5 minutes from my house) and it did not do anything.

Pull the oil cap and try to start it. Take a Look and see if the cam turns when cranking. If it doesn't your timing belt snapped.Originally posted by codyep3I hope to Christ you have looks going for you, because you sure as fuck don't have any intelligence.

My timing belt snapped at idle about 2 weeks ago. There were no horrible noises at all, it sounded like I had just turned it off normally. When I tried to start it again, I could hear the starter buzz. The valvetrain wasn't moving and didn't make the customary 'woosh-woosh-woosh' sound when the motor is spinning but not running.
Do what Todd Black 88 suggested for a diagnosis. If the cam doesn't move, you'll have to pull the head or swap the motor. All 6 of my pistons have slight dings on the exhaust side and my #5 intake rocker sheared in half. Remember, mine went at idle.
