m20 valve tick

So my m20 ticks loud to me and is driving me nuts. a couple of r3v members told me it was normal but I dont know hahaha. Its unacceptable so how loud should the tick be if its normal?

I feel your pain! After a few attempts myself at a valve adjustment I still wasn't happy with the tick. I ran the heavy oil that's been said and even took it to shop and paid a "professional" who is also an E30 guy.
I'm still can't believe the ticking I hear is normal and now I'm thinking of a rebuild or 24v swap.

Do a valve adjustment and run 20w-50 that should help
