Crazy Random Shutoff- FIXED!!

I once had a bad ecu that would cause the car to randomly die. It would always start and run for a bit, but eventually would stall, and not restart for a while. I tossed a used ecu in, problem solved! Took the old ecu apart and found a bit of corrosion on the board.
Something to check after the basics (air, fuel, spark) are sorted out.
Also, check the idle temp switched. It can cause some issues if it isn't switching, or I'd switching at the wrong time.

I'm surprised no one else had said this yet, but save yourself some money, and get your car back from the shop.
Go buy a volt meter, a fuel pressure gauge, and a Bentley manual.
Then start working your way through the tests.
Also, since you know it needs it anyways, get a new cap and rotor.
There aren't that many places that can leak air, and between a new boot and pelican parts intake gasket package, you will have ruled out pretty much all of them in an afternoon.
One of the greatest things about the e30 is how easy it is to work on and fix.
Once again, good luck!
