    ECU number question

    Hi guys,

Looking in the board without luck, I've see different ECU numbers for M20, What is the difference between each ECU # (173, etc etc)? What is the best?

    Thanks

    Saludos Fernando!!

Depending on the ECU your car has, you can benefit from the Stomp test and get a diagnostic code. For this you will need the 173.

Here's a link with more details on the Stomp Test. There may be other benefits that I'm unaware of. Perhaps others can chime in.

The BMW stomp test explained: pull check-engine codes with no tools, and why the 173 ECU beats the 153 for diagnostics.

    Te cuidas hermano!

    Kind regards,
    Victor
