    ECU number question

    Hi guys,

    Looking in the board without luck, I've see different ECU numbers for M20, What is the difference between each ECU # (173, etc etc)? What is the best?

    Depending on the ECU your car has, you can benefit from the Stomp test and get a diagnostic code. For this you will need the 173.

    Here's a link with more details on the Stomp Test. There may be other benefits that I'm unaware of. Perhaps others can chime in.

    So you have a check engine light on, and your a backyard mechanic. One of the most useful free tools in your arsenal is what is called the stomp test; this test basically makes the check engine light flash to give you a code, with this code you can determine the fault for why the
