    failed smog

due to evap and check engine. ima get code read on Saturday. but as far as evap failing what should i be looking for as the problem

E30's are exempt from the evap/gas cap test. Let them know and if they don't believe you, go somewhere else. Check engine light is an obvious sign something is wrong. Did the check engine light come on during the test or something? Take care of the problem. The more E30's fail smog, the harder it will be for the rest of us to pass. Guys, do a pretest if you aren't sure you are going to pass.

I do smogs I did the evap test on mine your evaporated canister is next to the power steering resivor check the hoses make sure thereyre not torn also if you the fuel pump has been replaced and the seal gasket wasn't replaced it could be leaking or the fuel tank could have a hole
For the check engine light turn the ignition on do not start the car and press the gas pedal down and up 5 times and then it should start blinking count the flashes.

That code is a Lambda fault, meaning that it results from an upset in the AFR. Most commonly it will be caused by intake leaks, an aged O2 sensor, a fuel delivery problem, or a combination of those. On the chance that something during the evap test caused it, reset the DME by disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds or more. If the code returns, the possible causes will have to be investigated.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Check the rail fuel pressure and have a smoke test run.
