That DME is the one for a SuperETA engine. Which could mean that you have that engine rather than an M20B25.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Post picture of the whole tb mounted on engine. If you have an m20b25 intake boot you have the I throttle body as they are a bit bigger that the e tb

That's a super ETA intake manifold and DME. AFM is from a 325i according to the Bosch book. Throttle body looks like a 325i but hard to tell the diameter from the pics. If the boot is the same size on each end then 325i. If it's smaller on the TB end, then it's an ETA/SETA TB. From your pictures, I can see that the oil filter is mounted directly to the block. This means it's probably a SETA since all 325i blocks used an oil filter head (for oil cooler) which angled the filter parallel to the block. ETA/SETA also used 2.5 Bar fuel pressure regulators vs 3.0 bar on the 325i.

Use the 173 ECU it's the latest motronic version 1.3 and will plug and play with your seta, I'm guessing you have a stock 88 sets though and a 6k rpm tach, do no over rev it with the 173! You only have single valve springs and and e cam, not good for high rpm

When I said 88 "sets" it was supposed to say SETA . I have one myself so am pretty familiar with it. If you want to make the top end like an I car you need:
            Valve springs
            Camshaft
            Intake manifold
            Injectors
            Fuel pressure regulator
            Throttle body
            Intake boot
            Air flow meter

All of that with that 173 DME and a 7k rpm tach will bolt right up to your 2.7l and you will have one of the most desirable m20 setups possible with stock parts. Your engine although a 2.7l has pistons designed to work with the 885 head so it retains the same compression unlike putting an 885 on stock ETA bottom ends.

That's a good place to start, search around though as this setup has been covered many times over the years. If you have any specific questions though just let me know
