    thats not really a BMW thing, its purely for the cat and emissions.

    the OP can disconnect his O2 sensor and disconnect the ECU to reset it and that way his bigger injectors will richen it up.
    89 E30 325is Lachs Silber - currently M20B31, M20B33 in the works, stroked to the hilt...

      if you are talking light throttle at 2k then the ECU should be in closed loop with 14.7:1 AFR getting feedback from the O2 sensor.

      even if you put bigger injectors after a bit of time the ECU will deliver the AFR will still be 14.7:1 because you have an O2 sensor.

      when i had my chip custom tuned i did not use the O2 sensor so it ran in open loop mode. of course the chip needs to be custom for this to be a long term solution

      being a little bit lean on that engine at very low load should not be causing bad pinging.

      a 2.7L alpina used stock injectors.

      im guessing you may need to adjust the ignition advance even when the fuelling is spot on....


      Yes Miller on My other stroker.
      The pistons are quite flat on top with large valve reliefs.
      The pinging does occur with WOT at the 2000rpm mark.
      Where did you get your custom tune DIGGER are you in sydney?

        I have given the m20 all kinds of ignition advance (we can go to 40* in Motronic) and never heard a ping, just showed loss of power on the dyno.

        Seeing it's 2000-ish RPM and low part throttle is odd.
        I got the chip off ebay named Alpina c2 but knowing ebay it could be anything.

          Andrew from ALS at 2 mary pde Rydalmere (02) 9680 0773 can do it but it will probably be hardly cheaper than a PNP MS or WAR if he is even still around. once its done its you cant play around with it yourself unless you get upto speed with how it works and get the right software etc

          otherwise goto E30zone forum and ask about plugin chips for different engine specs someone on there will be able to conjure something up
