    Apocalyptic Rod Knock On A ~200k B25

Exactly what the title says. I've owned the car for the last 5-10k miles of her life and maintained her religously. Engine's always full of oil and up to temp before I really get on it (I've maybe touched the rev limiter twice ever). Isn't 200k a little early to be giving out under these conditions? The car has never been raced, drifted, or otherwise beat on (It was an auto its entire life until I bought it). The timing belt did snap around 2000 miles ago, ruining the head, but ran great with the new head until now. Is it possible that the valve contact damaged one of the rod bearings? Or is totally unrelated and I have horrible luck?

The only time I have ever seen the "low oil pressure" light on the cluster illuminate is right after an oil change, and it went away after a second or two like it's supposed to.

I guess what I'm asking is: P.O. negligence or "shit happens?"

Mine spun at a little over 150,000 miles. No prior history. I put 10,000 miles on it and it showed no signs of problems other than a couple leaks here and there. I spun #1&2. A flicker of the oil light 1 morning and a knock on the way to get coffee. Fluids were all new and topped off. Bummer. I am in the process of rebuilding. I feel your pain. Hit the bone yard and pull a motor out of one that was t boned or otherwise running before going to the yard. Mine was an ix so I cannot get one there

Probably a combination of the two.

Yep, sparkly metal fairy dust in the oil. I'm going to try to swap in a known-good motor by myself. I understand this is going to be rough, but it's doable right?
