    Dont know what's going on

Today my dad was driving my car and it just broke down out of nowhere. He was almost home and when getting off the exit he pushed in the clutch and the car died. So he started it back up, drove a few hundred yards and it died again when he pushed in the clutch.

The oil pressure was about 45psi and the temp was about 195 while driving. But when the car died the oil temp went to 250+. And it wouldnt start for about 20 minutes. When he called me to let me know it broke down, it sounded like the car was knocking badly.

So we get it towed home and crank it up. It started fine and there was no knock at all. There is a slight ticking noise that only happens at around 3000 rpms though. Also we took off the valve cover and there was bearing material on the camshaft. The valve train looks good other than that, and it idled fine once we got it towed home.

Im not really sure what to do or where to begin. What do you guys think?

I'd start with making sure your timing belt has tension, "bearing material on the camshaft" sure seems like something isn't quite kosher.

I agree. I just recently did the head gasket and timing belt. And it has been running great up until today

        Oil temp? or water temp?

What does the bearing material look like?

It could be something as easy as an ISC, or an air leak.

I've been having the same issue, but not as bad. as soon as I push the clutch in, or go in neutral and let the clutch out the engine use to just shut off, or almost shut off. I would have to stay on the gas to keep it on.
