    Oil pressure gauge

converting to or adding an oil pressure gauge.
I'd actually like to keep the oil idiot light but add a pressure gauge.
I never have liked just the idiot light.

I know there has been discussion of this but I've not found anyone listing
part #s or sources for the ' T block' to mount both down where the original sender is located on the engine block.

Anyone done a good write up?

No write up needed really. VDO has senders that support both functions in a single unit out of the box. You'll want one threaded for m12 most likely to thread into the stock location.(verify the thread pitch of your stock sender I know the M12s work on M50s never added a gauge to an m20 personally)

I've used all of the below previously on builds just depending on which gauge the owner picked out for their dash and what the motor was.

VDO PN Range/Idiot light pressure threshold

    M10 thread-

    360 006 0-80psi/7psi

    360 023 10-150/7psi

    M12 thread-

    360 024 10-150/7psi

thanks, it seems a M12-1.5 male to M12-1.5 female with a 1/8t in the middle is rare..I think Car Quest here may have it in Part # 81639

I'm getting pretty damn sick of hunting for stuff for this BMW.

Old Fiats are easier to find parts for. ;)

thread it into the end of the hollow bolt that holds the filter housing to the block.

          no adapters required.

          done.

you need to drill and tap of course - it's a pipe thread connection. I just brought the sender to the hardware store and let the guy find the proper tap for me.

some will claim that the sensor being mounted horizontally will cause it to break but mine's been like that for 7 years/80,000 miles with zero issues. you could probably come up with some sort of support bracket that bolts to the block if it bothers you that much.
