My eta idles at 3k rpm! Help!

Ok so I went to try & reset the service light, & some how my dumbass put the jumper wire in the #15 pin & the #1 pin! So my idle spiked up to 3k & never came down! So there it is.

WTF can I do to fix that??

    Thanks in advance guys!!

Sounds like the Idle Control. I know that mine ('86 528e) had a flaky connector, and when disconnected the default position is wide open. More often than not while driving! (Kinda fun to clutch for a downshift and watch your RPM's go thru the roof! Not!)

The Electronic Troubleshooting Manual for an '86 325 says to check fuses 9 & 10. Do yourself a favor. Use a meter. Don't just look at them.

        Ok so quick update.

I replaced my ICV w/a junkyard replacement & a couple of fuses that blew out. & now it's down to 1100rpm. I suspect other vacuum hose leaks.

How's your thermostat? I may be shot thinking your car is cold and trying to get more fuel in there to "keep" it warm. the new ICV probably fixed the bulk of the problem and then this is just a few hundred rpm difference so it could be that.
I'd check up on that too, before you keep checking for vacuum leaks.
